The GameAxe is a relatively rare Famicom-compatible console that uses a fluorescent backlit LCD, similar to the PCE GT and Game Gear. Over 35 years, many of these LCDs have developed faults. To address this, I replaced the original screen with a new IPS LCD, allowing it to function properly.
The game screen can be displayed in full screen without any black borders.
The screen surface comes with an original protective film, so I believe the screen should be completely free of scratches.
When connected to a TV, you can turn off the LCD screen. Additionally, I replaced the original brightness adjustment switch with a button that includes menu functionality. This allows you to adjust parameters such as brightness and contrast. The settings are saved even when the power is turned off.
The controller port has not been tested, but I believe the likelihood of it being faulty is very low. It also works properly when powered by batteries, so it can be used as a portable gaming device.
The current shortcomings are as follows: some game software displays slight interference lines on the screen.
The product includes the game console, an AV cable, and an original vintage Nintendo power adapter.
